This little girl looks like a black sable cocker(because her nose is black not brown). I do not know why I look, it makes me so sad.

As people probably know, I'm keen on sables, especially girls. Unfortunately, I've seen that exact ad and picture, several months ago. And she was the same age then as it states now. I suspect it's a scam, and that in fact, there is no such puppy. And yes, it's still sad.

Thanks Chris for the info, as this one was tugging at my heart. With two sable girls already running things around here I don't even need to be thinking of another at this time. It's sad enough when people don't think before getting a dog but to run a scam like this is really unthinkable.

Chris: I'm curious why you think that (though I know you have an extensive rescue background and probably have seen more than I could imagine). Do you think it's possible that the owner just ran the same ad and didn't change anything (maybe HAD that baby, etc.)? She certainly is a cute little thing and I'd hate that she isn't getting any attention if someone is really interested in her.

Chris I am so glad you wrote to her, I was also thinking like Tina maybe it did not work out so she had her back and just posted the same ad. I did notice at the bottom of the ad it said

"Turned out, she is not good with every dog. But there is no pattern, so hard to tell if she'll like your current buddies ahead of time"

So I was thinking maybe the first home did not work out. Lets hope it is not a scam and if someone on the forum is really looking for a sable a match can be made.

Ok, here's the scoop. It is the same dog I saw and inquired about before. I answered her anonymous craigslist email yesterday and she emailed me back today; it popped up as a third contact on my email, so she had emailed me before.

Here's what she said, "This dog is a bossy little b!tch, very demanding, she already went out with a couple who returned her because they couldn't handle her, she's been back here for a while now. She probably won't get along with your dog [I'd asked about her getting along with my Cricket, who is as mellow and laid-back as a cocker could ever be] I want more than $500 for her and all her stuff so if you're still interested send me your phone number and we can talk."

Wow. Just, wow. Wish I were still doing rescue, I'd work a deal with her, yes, even in far off from California, Washington state. It sounds to me like she got in over her head by getting a puppy, and instead of just saying that, she's making the dog "wrong."

I'm pretty sure, with the right person, this dog would be a real joy: apparently she's spunky, confident, high energy, and pretty. And she's very young, though closer to 2 years than 10 months now. I hope someone gets her who appreciates her!

(PS, just read Deb's post- yep, you and Tina are correct).

Hannah, I just read your message over several times. I can't tell if you'd like to give her a home but don't know how to bridge the physical distance, or you're "just sayin'!" If it really is about the distance, please let me know. Rescue people have ways of making things work...

I am about 50/50 serious and just saying, mostly because I have to think there's a great home for her that is closer. Has she even been pulled from this irresponsible owner yet? The ad says that the owner wants more than $500 for her, which seems like quite a bit for a rescue to pay......

I keep coming back to look at her because she's so cute. I doubt whether she is any more of a handful than Emma - but I love that about Emma. It DID take some work, though, and if you have a new job and new baby you aren't going to have that sort of time. I just hope she can find a home before she becomes completely ignored and completely unhappy. I just cannot afford to have 3 dogs....

I wanted to bump this back up to the top because I would really like someone to rescue this little girl; I have three and my hands are full.

Oh no, her posting is gone :OMY

If someone from the forum wants this little girl, I would be willing to be a participant in a traveling chain to help get her to her new home. Shoreline, WA is a couple of hours from me and I would be willing to travel an additional 1 - 2 hours in any direction once I pick her up.

I'm within a few hours of Shoreline as well and would be happy to help transport this girl toward a forever home. She could even stay with us for a few days if that helped with the timing.

Unimportant in the whole scheme of things, but why doesn't she update that ad? The age and NO doubt the appearance is different now. Poor baby
