Look at Second Chance Cocker Rescue- they are in the Sacramento area and have a couple of blacks listed currently.

Where is your dad located. I posted a message on the immediate need forum for my senior black cocker spaniel. She's 12 years old and I'm looking for a foster parent to care for her. I would prefer to have her back after I find a job and a place to live but if I can't find anyone to care for her by July 11th, I am willing to give her to a loving owner. Take a look at my post with some pictures of her. I'm located in Orange County (Southern CA).

Check out the LA animal shelters, like Carson, maybe Lancaster or Baldwin. They will have lots to cockers to chose from. Look through Pet Finders for your area too. They will have lists of cockers in local shelters.
We had a beautiful little black cocker named Amy, she went to heaven 8 years ago...I miss her so. I have a soft spot for those little black cockers...

Yeah It's a great thing to get another cocker for your dad. Dog owners live longer than non-dow owners. Personally, I think black cocker spaniel owners live much longer than non-cocker owners At least that's what Vivi tells me

I have a senior black female Cocker Spaniel I'm looking for a home for her, permanently with the right owner or temporarily. She's quiet, calm, sweet, loves to be around her owner (me) and loves her walks twice a day. I love her very much but can't take her with me for now and because she's a senior, if I can't find any foster parent or new owner for her, I don't know what I'd do. I called her and she found a dog a month ago. She just forgot to take her post down but she said she will. I'm bummed about that. That would have been good for both of us.
