:hello-y: all my Cocker lover friends! For those of you ordering your Christmas presents early, please consider my book "Just Be You" for the younger ones on your Christmas list or the older ones that are "young at heart" and love their Cockers.

"Just Be You" tells the tale of Honey, a Cocker Spaniel (my beloved Cocker Spaniel), who thinks she's a duck…because that's what she's been told by the "others"…who just happen to be ducks! But secretly, Honey asks "Who can I tell that I am not what you see?" and the mirror replies "You can tell me!" A delightful journey of self-discovery, "Just Be You" reminds us of the importance of loving and honoring ourselves.

My first book "Me, the Tree" would also make a great Christmas gift. Illustrated with photography in Photoshop (like "Just Be You"), "Me, the Tree" follows the birth of a pine tree as a little pine cone with deep blue eyes embarks on a fanciful journey from seedling to adulthood in this poetic parable about self-realization. It is an inspiring tale about the power of believing in oneself. All the pictures were taken in the Rocky Mountains in Western Colorado where I live and the blue eyes belong to my ex's Australian Shepherd named Honesty. "Me, the Tree" won a 2007 EVVY Award through the Colorado Independent Publishers Association.

Besides being the author/illustrator, I'm also the publisher, so am doing all the marketing and promoting of both my books "Just Be You" and "Me, the Tree" myself. At 56 years old, I finally found my passion in life!

Check out my both book websites at http://www.just-be-u.com and http://www.methetree.com for sample pages, ordering the books, etc. If you'd rather not order using PayPal, you can just send me a check for $24.90 ($19.95 + 4.95 shipping) to:
Ann Ramsey
PO Box 317
New Castle, CO 81647

and I'll sign the book(s) & ship them as soon as I get the check. Some people prefer to do that.

Sincerely,
Ann & Honey

I bought 4 of these books - one for me, one for each of my 2 nieces, and one for my mom's 3rd grade class. They are wonderful! My 8 year old niece (who is not interested in reading in the least bit) shared it with her class a few weeks ago. :blob5: My mom has read it to her class and it's been passed around the school! My mom keeps asking if I could talk Ann and Honey into visiting the class :-lol: I can't say enough good things about Ann's work!

I agree with Kell we love the book. I have one for my daughter and one for my niece. It's funny, whenever we are on the forum and Izzie sees new pictures of Honey she knows it is the doggy in the book. How cute is that. Can't wait for the next one Ann.

:-thanks: everyone! I'm going to post your positive feedback on my website! I hope you don't mind. I am so appreciative!

I do love taking pictures of Honey and find myself doing that alot! Just sitting and watching her always makes me feel good, even when I'm in a bad mood. She inspires me, so I call Honey my muse...and the love of my life.

Thanks again for your support. Honey and I will sign your books when you order them!

Sincerely,
Ann

Yes! I'm in the process of making a custom stamp of her right front paw print that will be Honey's "signature."

I found a place online that makes custom stamps...self-inking, no less! I'll let you know how it goes. I'm been trying to figure out how to get a good paw print without buying a stamp pad just for one paw print. I tried having her step in a smear of black acrylic paint on a piece of paper and then stepping onto another piece of paper...that didn't work at all. Then it came to me...SCAN her foot on my scanner! I got a good scan of her foot, so then I erased out the fur in Photoshop (leaving the pad), then I put a black fill over the pads and voila! here's her paw print...isn't it beautiful?

Next step, size it for the stamp, upload it and hope for the best!

Ann

PS Honey thinks I'm nuts, by the way! :BounceHappy:

Forget about Christmas, I am going to order two, one as a going away present for Sydney and one for me.
What is the turnaround time? Or could you send it directly to her instead of to me?
They are the sweetest books.

I mail out books within a day of getting orders on my website or if you send a check (made out to me) for them, I mail them out as soon as I get the check. So it's really pretty fast. I send the books USPS media mail with delivery confirmation, which is the most cost effective way for me to mail them.

Here's my address:
Ann Ramsey
PO Box 317
New Castle, CO 81647

I can easily send the book to another address, too. There should be a place when paying for them in PayPal when you designate a different shipping address, but if not, just email me and I'll make sure that I send them to the address you want. I always sign books, too, so please email me with special names.

Thank you so much!

Ann
:ThanksWag:
