Does anyone know if there are any very good rescues in Maine or vermont that do home checks , require references etc etc? Camp Cocker is overwhelmed, too many dogs are euthanized in CA with the amount of dogs increasing each day. If they could find a good quality rescue group to work with in the north that is not jammed, we might be able to save some more dogs.

I am in NH on the Maine border, and can help with any transports needed in this area. The shelters around us often bring dogs up from Boston-wonder if maybe they can help-Dover NH and Stratham NH. I also could volunteer to do a home eval, but I am not sure if I could be objective enough-a home must have more than food and shelter and yard to pass my inspection-AC in the summer, human beds to sleep on, need to be spoiled rotten, etc.

There is Maine Cocker Spaniel Rescue. Their information is under the fundraiser portion of this forum.

Life's Little Paws is in that area. They are a very reputable rescue group. They do awesome work saving Cockers, especially seniors and those with eye problems.

Thanks everyone, I just checked the Main Cocker rescue, they do not have many dogs so they be an option, Lifes Little Paws is awesome but unfortunately just as crowded as Camp Cocker.
