John took him out into the bush with him to change the batteries in his trail cameras. FYI got a good sized buck on the camera. Aussi loves to go out in the bush with John he looks like a bunny jumping/running through the bush with a big goofy grin on his face. He came home full of little green burrs all over him. It took me three hrs to get all the burrs from his stomach and ears by the time I got to his legs, I knew there was no help for it and started hacking away with the scissors, I still need to finish his front legs but I admitt I did a horrible job, but he was a mess between the matts that were there from my week away and swimming/bush running that mess was not coming out :cry so he now has a nice fluffy body and kinny little chicken legs  Hopefully I can get him into the groomers and he can get nekid he's too hot with all that fur anyway. Crazy enough my hubby is mad at me for the hack job I did on his legs, but he was the one having a nap while I tried to clean him up yesterday after getting home from Vegas on the red eye at 8am Saturday and being up since 6 am friday with very little sleep. I love my Aussi he is such a trooper to trust me with so little sleep :tg

Kathy, my dogs get little burrs in them every weekend when they run through the woods. If you put them in the bath and pour conditioner on them, they simply come right out in the water. They are impossible in dry and wet only hair but the oils pull them out with no pain for the dog. Maybe this will help next time.

Good to know thanks for the info. I did give him a good bath before trying to get the burrs out, normally it isn't a problem, those little green burrs are horrible like Velcro balls that just twist around, brown burrs I can handle I almost would have welcomed them lol

We get loads of sticky grass ball things here, but mostly they comb out ok. I know what you mean about the chicken legs, I have a client who wants his dog with a natural back, that's all very well but she has such thick fur that I keep having to trim the legs pretty short and she looks a bit silly like that! :tg
