I brought Beanie to the groomers last Thursday. We always go here and never had a problem. This time is different. Beanie's hair was so long we decided to shave it short on her back and chest. We also decided that she needed her butt area shaved short because #2 was starting to get stuck by her butt and I was tired of cleaning her like a baby. She was fine the day of and half the day Friday but Sat/Sunday and today is a different story. She doesn't seam to be in pain she lets me touch her butt with no problem but she doesn't seam like herself. She doesn't want to walk and she keeps spinning in circles and licking the area. I made her sleep with a soft cone last night and she wasn't happy about that. Is there anything I could do? She is a little better today and I have been sparying aloe on the area, but all she does is lay down. She doesn't want to walk or even go to the bathroom. She's barely eating unless I give her apple or hand feed her. She does however get up occasionally to drink water. I just want her to feel better.

My guess would be that they either didn't express the anal glands or did it wrong and may have hurt her.
Or, maybe there is some razor burn on her butt from being shaved so short. If the razor burn is the issue, you could put some Neosporin or Aloe on the area so sooth the burning.
If it is the anal glands, you might want a vet to take a look at Beanie to be sure the groomer didn't hurt her or if her glands just need expressed.

I made a vet appointment for today at 6. My husband is home and said she is just laying and not really moving. She has a sad face :( so I know something is really bothering her. This will be our first trip to the vet since she was a puppy. She is/was a very healthy girl. She did however eat some apple today so that's a plus but she still won't go to the bathroom. The last time she went was last night with no problems. Everything in that department was normal. My poor baby. I learned my lesson....I won't let the groomer shave her behind ever again. I will trim it myself. I will keep you updated!

Just asking, is she spayed? Could she be in heat? My dogs get the sanitary cut in the private area with no issues at all. I would certainly take her to the vet to be sure.
