I am looking to buy a good quiet dryer with heat for my new little guy (I've always used a human hair dryer in the past), and want to keep the price under $300.00. The one I am looking at is the Master Flash Dry stand dryer. The price is $249.00 through Pet Edge. My friend whom grooms for a living recommends the Oster stand dryer with 3 heat settings and is quiet she says, but the price is $479.99.
Any ideas on the Master, good or now? Any other recommendations would be great as well? Thank a bunch!

Hi Patti:

If you don't get a response soon, use the "search" feature above. I know dryers have been discussed in the past, but I can't remember which ones were recommended.

I'm just going to throw this out there....
Have you thought about a "portable" forced air dryer? A lot of people use them at shows because they are so portable, but I use mine for my primary dryer. I'm not a groomer by trade so don't need it every day. We have 2 dogs at our house so it gets used once or twice a month. I also don't have the space for a stand dryer.
So I opted for this:
http://www.amazon.com/B-Air-Dryers-Power-Velocity-Dryer/dp/B002NXM4X8/ref=pd_sim_sbs_199_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=51mUlRxKv2L&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=01VGREJQ3V1NK5BZ4RYN
It's works VERY well and is still quiet. I also liked the price point for what I'm using it for. It's small/storeable and still gets the job done.

I bought my in 2011 and still love it. I did notice that they now have an even more powerful model.

If you like the "hands free" idea of the stand dryer, you can get a "Groomers Third Arm" attachment for the dryer.

The arm is even more adjustable than a stand dryer.

There are a number of companies that make portable forced air dryers like these. A search on Amazon will show you lots of options.

I have this one- I bought it about 20 years ago for $119. It is pretty loud, I put cotton in my ears and the dog's ears, lol. I understand the newer models are much quieter; every once in a while I think about buying one, then I notice the prices.... A couple of years ago I finally got the hands-free arm, which I highly recommend if your are drying a full-coated cocker.

I have the metro one too

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QS ... detailpage

It's not super quiet, but the problem Cici has is that she hates the hose pointing at her. She attacks it. She thinks it is going to eat her or something. LOL. She HATES it. She would practically sprain her neck and it was hard to keep her from falling off the table. So, I stopped using it. But it dried her so fast

But now that I see that groomer's extra arm thing....oh that looks interesting!!! Thanks, Sorcha. I might try it.

Always funny how happy the dogs look on the product's box :lol3 All I can picture is Cici's snarling face...
