I have always wondered about the picture in this link.

http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/americancocker.htm

I have never before seen a cocker spaniel with bangs, is this a thing?

I know! I've seen that picture many times before and wondered the same thing. It's kind of cute.

I could be wrong, but I believe that is how some show topknots are done.

Ava's topknot will look EXACTLY like that when it needs trimmed....it actually takes no time for it to happen. IMO its nothing more than a topknot seriously needing to be cut.

It's not a show cut - just something someone thought was cute, like those of us who have tried a Mohawk on their Cocker. My groomer even died it purple!!

This is actually a way to cut a top knot, ie you bring the "bangs" forward, and trim. Julie shows it in her video: http://zimfamilycockers.com/Forums/view ... =15&t=7597

I'm not entirely sure why it would be used on that site, or why the dog is apparently sitting on a sofa, but bringing the bangs forward is one way to trim a top knot.

I've never seen a Cocker sport bangs, but hey, to each their own.

I let my Cocker's grow out like bangs sometimes. She looks very cute.
