Problem with avatars has been fixed

It's been over a month since our upgrade to a new server, but I've just now realized that the move to the new server caused a problem with uploading avatars. The short version of the story is that the problem has now been fixed... and you shouldn't have a problem uploading a new avatar or changing out an old one.

The long version of the story is...
When we made the move to the new server, we installed a totally fresh version of the forum software, which set everything back to the default software settings. A lot of stuff on the Zim forum uses custom settings that are different from the default... so part of my challenge during the upgrade was to remember all the things that needed to be customized beyond the default values. I customized all the things I could think of that needed it... but it turns out that I forgot about avatars.

So, for the last month, we've been running with some very heavy restrictions in place that pretty much would have prevented anyone from uploading an avatar. Sorry about that! I had no idea, until someone finally sent me a PM to ask for some help in uploading an avatar. When I tried to do it for them, I noticed the problems.

The moral of the story is...
If you run in to trouble doing something on the forum... or if something on the forum just doesn't seem to be working right... don't be afraid to contact me about it! Don't assume that I'm so busy that I don't have time to help you solve a forum problem. That's what I'm here for. And sometimes, in asking for help with a forum problem, you will save the day by causing me to realize that something was out of whack for everyone on the forum!
