I too want to bump it up to the top. As we near the holiday season and the beginning of a new year, I want to say " Thank you" to all the forum peeps that make this joining together to love, care and see our spaniels through to the end, so very meaningful. As I say good morning or good night, all across the US, there are forum spaniels waking up and going to bed, loved and cared for. Hearing about all their ups and downs, and the dedication and love of their people, gives me hope for our country and for humanity. And knowing also that there are spaniels rescued and on the forum, because of the knowledge and direction of the peeps on here makes me proud. Reading about these beloved dogs is the best part of my day. Good Morning, Zim Forum!

I've missed this, too.

Hannah has a new hair cut. :gig I cut off her long leg hair and all along her underside, so it's down to about a half inch or so. It works great to help diminish the giant snowballs she used to pick up there. I call her my little lamby, or lamb chop, cause I left her back and sides long, so she looks like a sheep... She loves to play in the snow and we have some!

Thought I was going to lose Shadow, my purry one, several times since last spring. The last incident was the worst, but with prayer and lots of TLC, she's eating, putting on weight, and playing with her sisters.

Little Ginger is doing great, too. She's so funny. She's started barking at dogs and some other animals on TV. Then she races to the living room to see if they're out there. When they're not, she keeps barking... I've started calling her mighty mouth...

Well, goodnight everyone, and Happy New Year! :hp

Rosie, I have to say that it is so good to see you back here. You were one of the most welcoming people to me, and I had wondered what had become of you. I'm sorry to hear about Shadow, hopefully she will continue to gain, and improve. I love hearing about Ginger, she stole my heart when I saw her modeling your harnesses. And of course Hannah, give those girls smooches for me.

Food in this house has suddenly switched to sugar free, and low carbohydrate. Although we did eat healthy before, we would have pasta, and sometimes white rice. Well, those days have passed, but I don't really miss them. It is wonderful to see my sibling get healthy again, they actually seem to be happier. They just probably finally feel well (more or less) again. All the needles and the such are certainly intimidating, but the whole family is settling into our new lifestyle. This is my first post on this thread, but this group of wonderful people has done so much, that I wanted to post here and say, thank you, and goodnight friends.

Rosie, missed you bunches! Sorry to hear about Shadow but glad to hear she's having some better days! Glad to hear the other girls are doing well. Cooper is our only one that doesn't bark at the tv.

Emma, my ex has developed diabetes years ago and had managed it with diet and exercise and had just recently had to go on insulin and is hoping to go off of it soon as it's beginning to stabilize and stay lower. Though there are different kinds and everyone's different. Another friend and coworker has received a pancreas transplant as she has had diabetes since she was a small child and is now no longer diabetic. Best of luck to your whole family, especially your sibling.

Our Molly recently had to have an eye removed due to glaucoma. She's doing well but she does have cataract issues in her other eye. She just turned 10 on New Years Day.

Sally - My sibling has Type 1, so the chances of them not having to use insulin, are, well, I'm not even sure if that's possible. Exercise wise, not only do they really not have the time, (they have maybe an half hour of free time for a daily average) but they also are still so thin, that the focus right now is for them to gain weight. They did meet with a nutritionist, and figured out a manageable diet. My sibling has good spirits though, and I have faith that with a little time, they will get used to it.

Sorry to hear about Molly's glaucoma, however it is amazing how these dogs can handle being blind, or mostly blind.

I have to wonder - what happened to all the original posters of this thread...? I hope they are still enjoying life. Goodnight forum friends.
