I knew that about tomatoes and do that all the time when I'm making tomato soup from scratch, but never tried it with a potato! I will have to do that. Doesn't Marianne look great, BTW?

That's a great tip. I'll have to try it.

We recently saw this video on shucking corn http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnBF6bv4Oe4 Super easy and it really works. The corn is perfectly cooked.

Both of those things are amazing. I see a lot of mashed potatoes and corn on the cob in my family's future.

Wow, that corn is very cool, too. Normally I clean it, then wrap it in wax paper and then microwave it - but this is awesome!

I peel them after boiling when I make my egg & potato pie, but I never thought of doing it that way - I'll have to try it next time!

I've got a report on the potato peeling. It does work, but I boiled five potatoes at a time. The first two after 15 minutes were a little hard to peel. The second two after another few minutes were much easier. I did have to cut and boil the potatoes much longer to do mashed potatoes though. Next time I'm going to try to boil them 25-30 minutes and see if that will do it. I forgot to buy corn on the cob though. Next time.

And my report on the corn shucking....works like a charm! It was so easy and worked just like the video.
