A dog is truly a man's best friend.

It is sad but who takes the pet to the funeral? I found it more moving that his best friend is adopting Hawkeye.

Very moving, as for myself I say all the time, that my boys are part of the family, so what would be more normal than they come. So that said, i will make sure that my family knows my wishes in this matter.

Very sad, indeed. It is becoming more common to have a beloved dog present at its owners funeral. I have attended two funerals where the dog was present, one as recent as a week ago. Another friend held her ex-husbands dog at his funeral (they had remained close friends). Whatever is comforting to the family is what is right.

Being dog lovers, we all can relate, can't we?

They had this on the Yahoo! home page late last week and I was tearing up just reading the title. :cry Seeing the love and loyalty of this dog makes me want to be sure I can be worthy of the love of my fur kids.

The picture in the article was enough for me. Dogs know what's going on so much more than we think.

My husband had heard the story and told me about it with tears in his eyes. It really is a heart-wrenching story.
